Katherine Fuchs
Kathy is the executive chef and co-owner of The Thirsty Koala, an Australian restaurant in Astoria, Queens. Prior to opening the restaurant in 2009, Kathy had a decades-long career as a FDNY paramedic and Chief that included being a first responder to the 9/11 attacks.
Kathy was born and raised in Astoria, with roots in Argos, Thessaloniki, and Athens.
Bessie Hadjigeorghi, Esq.
Bessie is a transactional real estate attorney with the law firm Mavrides, Moyal, Packman & Sadkin, LLP and is admitted to practice law in both New York and Cyprus.
Bessie grew up in New York and Cyprus, graduating from high school in Nicosia. She obtained her law degree from Cardiff University School of Law in the UK before moving to the United States. She currently lives on Long Island.
Nikolas Karkanias, PhD
Nikolas is currently Global Digital Commercial Client Partner, Hospital Business and Enterprise Medical Affairs at Pfizer. Nik received his B.S. in biochemistry at Rutgers University, and his Ph.D. in neuroscience at the University of Florida.
Nik was born in the United States. His family is from Thessaly, by way of Mesologgi, and Samos.
Nickolaos Kastrinakis
Nickolaos, or “Nickos”, is a senior customer success manager with Amazon, and during his twenty year tenure in the software industry has served in various leadership positions for multibillion Fortune 500 companies, including Citibank.
Nickos moved from Chania, Crete to New York in the nineties, and currently lives in Long Island.
Olga Someras, Esq.
Olga S. is general counsel to the Rent Stabilization Association of NYC, a real estate industry trade association representing 25,000 property owners/agents in New York. Olga obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History and Medieval & Renaissance Studies from NYU and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
Olga was raised in Astoria and is of Pontic Greek and Corfiot descent.
Olga Tzortzatos, Esq.
Olga T. is general counsel for a NYC property management company that manages thousands of residential and commercial units throughout Manhattan. Olga has been an attorney for twenty-one years, focusing on real estate and landlord/tenant matters. Olga obtained a Bachelor of Arts from NYU and a Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
Olga was born in Greece and immigrated to New York as a child. Her family is from Kefalonia and Messenia.
Dr. Nickolas Tyris, MD, FACR
Dr. Nick is a board-certified rheumatologist and co-founder of VIP Rheumatology in NJ. Nick grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ, attending New York University for his Bachelor’s degree and Georgetown University School of Medicine.
He currently lives in New Jersey with his wife and his two children.
